Psychology is out of the books and into the real world; it’s a process through which we see everyday action. At Zoechea Academy, we look at Types of Psychology as a tool for our students to achieve full mental and emotional growth. Each branch of psychology plays a role in how we think, act, and which world we put ourselves in. We are going into detail on that, which is the real world and very specific types of psychology and how they play into your life.
- Clinical Psychology
Imagine a time when a person is unable to sleep at night for what they lived through. Clinical psychologists do more than talk; they assess, diagnose and treat real mental health issues. At Zoechea, we look to this type of psychology in our work with The Emotional Mind, grief, or long-term anxiety.
- Cognitive Psychology
Why do some people get caught up in overthinking and others in basic mistakes? In the field of cognitive psychology, we look at processes that include memory, reasoning, and decision making. In our work, we take that research and use it to improve focus strategies, study skills, and mental clarity. It isn’t theory; we provide practical solutions for everyday life.
- Developmental Psychology
In the case of a child’s tantrum, a teenager’s mood swings, or an elderly person’s forgetfulness, we see these through the lens of developmental psychology. We look at how people develop over time and what factors play a role in that mental growth and social-emotional development. At Zoechea Academy, we include this in our child-parent workshops and teen confidence-building modules.
- Social Psychology
Have you ever bought into a product because the whole group did? Social psychology tells us why. It looks at peer influence, group behaviour, and social perception. At Zoechea, we discuss how to break out of that social conditioning and develop your own identity.
- Educational Psychology
Not all of us learn the same. In the field of educational psychology, we study how info is taken in by the brain and what we can do to help that info stick. We put this into practice in our learning strategies workshops, which see us help students to identify which of the 3 main learning types they are: visual, auditory or kinesthetic.
- Industrial and Organisational Psychology
Why do some teams perform better as a unit than others do? What does a boss do to connect with his or her staff? Industrial and organisational psychology has the answers. It is also concerned with the study of behaviour in the workplace. Zoechea presents modules on leadership philosophy, employee health and team dynamics based on this field.
- Health Psychology
A stressed-out mind may cause migraines, weight gain, or even heart issues. Health psychology weaves in how our thoughts play a role in health. We do this in our lifestyle sessions, which cover stress, insomnia, or poor diet.
- Forensic Psychology
Forensic psychology is a blend of mental growth and legal systems. In criminal profiling and also in the assessment of whether someone is fit for trial, we see great intensity in this field. At Zoechea, we don’t practice in courts, but we do bring up issues of morality, ethics and decision making in our work.
